Towns we serve in El Dorado County
Each town page has its own ZIPs, neighborhoods, gate and local rules.
From master-planned to Gold Rush
The west slope runs from the newest housing we serve to some of the oldest. El Dorado Hills began in the early 1960s as a master-planned community, and 35% of its homes were built in the 2000s. Placerville began as a mining camp on Hangtown Creek in 1848, and about a third of its homes were built before 1960. Cameron Park, Shingle Springs and Diamond Springs sit in between, with most homes built in the 1970s and 1980s.
That spread means the work varies too, from a move-out garage in a newer subdivision to an estate cleanout in a house that has stood for a century.
Where El Dorado County loads go
We take El Dorado County loads to Kiefer Landfill in Sloughhouse, at $61.35 a ton (effective 2026-01-01). The west slope's own materials recovery facility on Throwita Way in Diamond Springs posts $128.45 a ton (effective 2026-07-01). Running loads to Kiefer is what keeps the El Dorado travel fees where they are. The county's own landfill, Union Mine, stopped taking public loads in 1996.
For a remodel, keep the weight tickets we hand you. County code requires covered construction projects in the unincorporated area to divert at least 50 percent of their construction and demolition debris from landfills, and the tickets are how you show where it went.
Use the free programs first
In Shingle Springs, Diamond Springs and the rest of the unincorporated county, the franchised hauler's agreement includes an on-call bulky pickup for a per-item charge, one free curbside bulky voucher a year, and one yearly voucher to drop 2.5 cubic yards at the Diamond Springs facility. County residents can also drop off most household hazardous waste free at 4100 Throwita Way.
If your pile fits inside those, use them. We are for the garage that doesn't, the estate that has to be empty by a closing date, and remodel debris.

El Dorado County questions
Why is there a travel fee in El Dorado County?
A job in El Dorado Hills or Placerville means the drive up from Lodi, the run to the gate and the drive home. The fee is flat for each town, shown on your written quote before you say yes, and never discounted or added afterward.
Why do your El Dorado loads go to Sloughhouse?
Because Kiefer Landfill posts $61.35 a ton (effective 2026-01-01) and the Diamond Springs facility posts $128.45 a ton (effective 2026-07-01). On every El Dorado trip we worked out, the Sloughhouse run cost less in total, and that saving is already inside the travel fee.
Can you document a remodel for the county's diversion rule?
We hand you the weight ticket for every load, showing the facility and the tonnage. Whether that satisfies your project's plan is the county's call, so check the requirement on your permit.
Do you work in Cameron Airpark?
Yes. Cameron Park, Cameron Airpark included, is in our El Dorado County service list, with its own page for the travel fee and ZIP.
