From Rancho Calaveras to Main Street Murphys

Calaveras runs from subdivisions to Gold Rush main streets. Rancho Calaveras, between Valley Springs and Jenny Lind, is the largest residential subdivision in the county with 3,615 lots, and most Copperopolis homes were built in the 1990s and 2000s. Up the hill, Angels Camp and Murphys date to 1849, and 13% of the homes in Angels Camp were built in 1939 or earlier.

That mix means lake houses cleared for a sale, second homes emptied by families who live elsewhere, and older houses settled after a death.

Where Calaveras County loads go

The county's seven disposal sites are for Calaveras residents and businesses, who pay a solid waste parcel fee on their property tax bill. Residents with ID can drop off up to 2 cubic yards of household trash a day, and mixed loads and construction debris go only to Rock Creek in Milton.

We are a Lodi company and do not pay that parcel fee, so we do not use the county's sites. Our Calaveras loads come back to North County Landfill in Lodi at $60.93 a ton (effective 2026-01-01), open seven days, and you get the weight ticket.

Use the free programs first

City of Angels Camp residents get one free 3.5-cubic-yard Handy Hauler a year from the city's garbage hauler. That is a real amount of room, so book it first. In the unincorporated county, the permitted hauler offers bulky item pickups for a fee.

When the job is bigger than that, a whole house, a garage or a remodel, that is where we come in.

Calaveras County questions

Why is there a travel fee in Calaveras County?

A Murphys or Copperopolis job is the drive up from Lodi, the job and the drive back to the Lodi gate, because the county's own sites are not open to us. The fee is flat for each town, on your written quote before you say yes, and never added afterward.

Why don't you dump at Rock Creek?

Calaveras County's disposal sites are for waste generated in the county by people who pay the county's solid waste parcel fee. We don't, so we haul Calaveras loads home to North County Landfill in Lodi, $60.93 a ton (effective 2026-01-01).

Do you clear lake houses and second homes?

Yes. Out-of-town owners get a video walkthrough, a fixed written bid with the travel fee as its own line, and before-and-after photos of every room the same day.

Is Angels Camp's free Handy Hauler worth using first?

Yes. If you live in the City of Angels Camp, book your free 3.5-cubic-yard Handy Hauler before calling us. If the job outgrows it, send us a photo of what is left.
